Lost another pound today due to the adjustment and liquid/mushy diet. I'm at 178 and feeling great! One more pound and it will be 60 total from pre-op of 237. What a ride!

I really thought that it would be hard to be back on the liquid diet after my fill. But, after day one, it's not that bad. I had 3 protein shakes and a low cal soup yesterday. I have one more day and then I can add some mushies. The good news is I have dropped from 181 to 179 in just two days! That makes it worth it for sure!
I went in to see my surgeon today for my 6-month post-op check up. I explained my issues with the slow weight loss. He agreed that it made sense to give me another fill. The interesting thing is that I thought I had 4.5 cc in my band, but he informed me I only had 3 cc. He added another 1 cc for a total of 4 cc.
I always get nervous when it comes to fills. Essentially, he is poking a big needle in my stomach. The strange thing is that it doesn't really hurt. It's hard to wrap my head around the concept. But, he did it super quick and I was very relieved to have it over and done with. If you want to see what it looks like, read Lap Band Gal's blog post here. She has some great photos that look exactly like what happens. I will be on protein shakes and liquids for two days, then mushies for a couple more. I am hoping this adjustment jumpstarts my weight loss again. For the past 4 days, I have been taking a daily 1.5 mile walk with the dogs. Prior to that, I would take quick walks and be done. Now, I am making an effort to walk farther. And today, I got back on the elliptical for a full 30 minutes. I forgot how good it feels to exercise. I had been stubborn thinking I didn't want to include exercise. I wanted to lose weight simply by eating less. For the first 3 months it worked magically. But now, after losing only 6 pounds in the last 3 months, I need to do more. I am going into my surgeon for a 6 month check-up tomorrow and I will ask for a fill. This means going back to liquids for a few days, but I will be ok with that. I want to lose another 40 at least. I need to kickstart it with exercise and liquid diet.
I don't post all that often because at 6 months post-surgery, I don't really think about my band all that much. This is a good thing. It doesn't consume my life. I love the weight I've lost. Still trying to lose more. I've hit a horrid plateau where I am still happy, but need to get over the hurdle. I am going in to see my surgeon in a couple of weeks, and will ask for a fill. That should jump start my weight loss again.
